Friends in two Citties and the time (Free post)

Hi, today I will to talk about how is to live in two different cities…

What I mean with this?

Well, in first place, you have to know that I’m from Arica city and I’m studying in Santiago city actually, so, in the year, I am constantly travelling between both places since the beginning of 2018.

At the beginning, everything was great because I was meeting this new city (Santiago) and meeting my new classmates while my old friends and classmates in Arica keep seeing each other but over time their lives were moving forward, and they were distanced from each other.

My friends and acquaintances in Arica were creating news groups, like me in Santiago, so every time I traveled to Arica (on holidays for example), less people were attending our departures because some of them didn’t have time.

With the pass of the time, in Santiago I made a lot of new friends, and another new groups were been created, so in this city I feel so happy, and in Arica, I usually go out with my closest friends and I like that, because they are so excited when we are together. I don't see the rest of my old friends so much but I don’t care about that, I only concentrate on enjoying being with them.

My Profession in the future

Well, I’m studying Sound Engineering so, now in this time, I think that I have a lot of possibilities in the future about this work. Today, I don’t know what elective I will choose but I have the minimal idea that I will choose the Productions Classes because, I love to help musicians to create and record songs, help with their projects and recommend some ways to improve their projects.

If I choose the other way (Acoustic to infrastructure), I would to work on buildings or in the creations of acoustic spaces like cinemas, theaters, houses and more, even in industries where the people work with a lot of noise in the background.

Other thing that I could do is create a studio to make productions to other people, or work helping with the sound in shows around the world, we have possibilities, you just have to look for them.

I choose this career because I didn’t like anyone of the other careers, I can’t imagine to me working in another job and been happy at the same time, if I’m studyin this career, it’s because it makes me happy.

Country that I'd like to visit

Hi, today I will to talk about the country that I'd like to visit.
Since I was a kid, United States Of America call for my attention, especially the bigs cities like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Florida, etc. Because it have a lot of kinds of people and a lot of things that you can do it in these places.
I would like to travel for this country side to side, from the west to the east, visiting famous places that were used for scenery of famous movies, and go to shows of my favorites artists.

I would like to live there because it is a place with a lot of opportunities of work, this is in part is because I would like to work making sound in shows or performances, and this kinds of events are so frequent.
USA give us a lot of things to do and a lot of ways to carry our own life, is this liberty because i would like to live in this place.

The best concert that i ever been

I remember when the last year, on September’s holidays (that was literally one week, is not much) I travelled to Arica (I’m from there) to visit my family and my friends. In this travel, I remember that I go out with my friends on the nights and one of these moments, I remember when we went to the show of the band ‘’Los Prisioneros, Narea y Tapia’’ (Yes, I know that is not the best band for a lot of people, but I will to explain why I liked this moment).

I like the band ‘’Los Prisioneros’’ since I was a in the primary school, when our Music’s Teacher taught us about them and their music. They are of the most popular chileans bands in the 80’s.

The show was in a big local, with bar, music, dances and a lot of drinks. I remember that the father of one of my friends helped us to enter to the event and get drinks (He has a lot of contacts in that world). So that night, I really enjoyed the show because I knew the lyrics of all songs.

3rd semester

Hi people, do you have a good year at this moment? Personally, I think that the year was not the big thing because I have had better years than this like 2017 (my last year in the high school).

The year started with clases because my career and the faculty were been with mobilizations so we (my careermates) were finishing our 2nd semester at the end of January, 2019. After that, I travelled to Arica (my homeland) to visit my family and my Friends but, when I came back, I realized that nothing was the same like I remember. This is because my Friends got other Friends and we did not go out like the other years.

At the end of holidays, I came back to Santiago to start my 3rd semester and I had been here to this moment. I have to say that, like I said in the introduction, this years was not one of my best years but, was been so interesting because I met new people, I record songs with my careermates, I met the south of this country with my girlfriend’s family and another things.

Actually I am on my last week with class to finish the semester. I don’t have time and I’m fear but, I enjoyed the days because this make me feel alive.

Talking about this blog and the english classes, I that this subject activity helped to us so much because we have to generate or improvise ideas and, we have to think in english. I liked this subject.

  

Food that we like

Hi people, I know that you don’t care about me and my life and I think that it’s normal, because you don’t know about me and I don’t know about you, but here we are to learn about us and that is the matter.

Well, after that I can say that I will to talk about a thing that probably nobody cares and it is how we eat.

For example, all the mornings I eat a yogurt bowl with cereal, sometimes with a fruit or juice. After that I live my morning without problems and in the midday I prepare a collation; it consist in cookies or bread. In the ffternoon (between 1:30 – 2:30 PM) I lunch a big portion of food (sometimes this is not good, because this causes exhaustion). After that I prepare another collation like fruit or bread and finally I have dinner.

Generally I like all types of foods except the spicy food, I can’t eat the spicy food because is so hard to me but I can eat the other kind of foods and no necessarily I like these.

For example, I don’t like eat salad with lemon and salt, but I can eat salad with lemon and salt without problems. At the same time, I don’t like soft drinks, but when I am on parties or with friends, I drink soft drinks. Another exception that I make is about the cheese; I like to eat only cheese without anything, but I don’t like to eat cheese with bread because is so dried to me.

Subject that I like

Hello everyone, today I will talk about the subject that I enjoy this semester and my experience in that class. Well, the subject’s name in spanish is ‘’Taller de Registro Sonoro’’. Basically, in this class we are learning how to record in a Studio.

These are things like how to locate the microphones over the instruments or amplifiers to get the best result in the audio record, how to connect the plugs to the mixer, how to use the mixer, how to use a old recorder, the Studio protocols, the operation of the mixer and some tips to the producers.

In the first classes, we have to know about some microphones, technical specifications and their use, after that, we entered to the Studio in the level -2 of the faculty, the ‘’Centro Tecnológico (CENTEC)’’ to record a song and its different instruments.

The reason that I like this subject is that I like to learn how to record some instruments, the use of the mixer and, above all, the place that we use and we work, I’ve never been in a place like that (CENTEC).

Hans Zimmer

Hi everyone, do you have anyone you admire?

Personally yes I have. Well, he’s not my idol but I really like his work. His name is Hans Zimmer, he is a musician producer and composer, he has made the soundtrack of many movies and I think that most of you have hear about him or knows some of his works.

Sometimes he is renamed like ‘’The new John Willliams’’ (He make the Star Wars Soundtrack) and I think that this is not true because John Williams has made a work centered in ‘’leitmotiv's’’ and Hans Zimmer make music to create atmospheres.

For example, John Willimas created the soundtrack for the film ''Superman'' in 1978. The main theme of his film represents to the character, is the ''Superman's theme'' that of we knows. Instead, Hans Zimmer createed de soundtrack for the movie ''Man of Steel'' in 2013. Ins this movie, the main theme is perfect to the movie atmosphere but, the music is not memorable and not represents the character that we knows.

I like him because most of scenes of movies that he had worked have been pretty good moments to enjoy thanks to his music.

How I met Twenty One Pilots

Hi everyone, do you have a favorite kind of music?

Personally, I don’t have a favorite kind of music, because usually I don’t choose what I like. I think that all the styles have something good to hear (based on my experience).

I remember when I was coursing the secondary school (Year 2016), I had a English teacher who made us listen the album ‘’Blurryface’’ by Twenty One Pilots all the time. Every class we listened the album. I remember that in the first times I hated them but with the passage of time, I began to get used to.

Every time that I listened the album, I was trying to discover the drums rhythms (these rhythms was so weird to me in these days) from songs like ''Heavydirtysoul'' or ''Lane Boy'', The beat of ''Stresssed Out'' was the most normal for me because class to class, with my hand and legs, I practiced the drums of that songs and ''Stressed Out'' was the most easy.

When I had rehearsals with my band, I took the drumsticks and sat on the drums to play Twenty One Pilots songs, and my band like them too so sometimes, we played their songs (but never in a show).

Today, Twenty One Pilots is one of my favorites bands.

My favorite picture

Hi people, today I will to talk you about my favorite picture:

This photo was taken in August, 2017 when I was 17 years. I remember that I was in a band called ‘’Nada por Ahora’’ and we had our own photographer Catalina, she is a good friend yet. This photo shows me playing the guitar, I remember that I felt so nervous, because there was a lot of public. We played around 30 minutes, in the playground of my school, I remember when we finished the show, an unknown girl came up to me and she told me: ‘’you are a good bassist’’, I told her ‘’Yes’’ and I spoke with her again in my life.

I like this photo because I remember that before this photo, I didn’t like to appear in photos but this photo showed me that I can appear in photos without problems, so after that moment, I like when someone take me pictures.

My favorite movie

Hi, today I will to talk about the movies in my life actually.

In first place, I have to say that I love to see animated films. Especially animated films by big studios like Disney or Dreamworks because this kind of movie usually contain all kinds of content like drama, action, love, terror and comedy in one. At the same time, most of the time these productions spend a lot of time in the soundtrack, and yes, I love to hear the soundtracks on the movies.

My actually favorite movie is ''Spirit, Stallion of the cimarron'' by Dreamworks Studios mainly because, I love the horses, the horse is my favorite animal in the world. I like this movie because it mixes the 2D animation with 3D animation and, at the same time, I love the story and the soundtrack.

I like the superhero movies too, because like the animated films, these have contents of all of kind. The most recent movie that I saw is ''Avengers, Endgame''. If you like the Marvel Cinematographic Universe and the Avengers Saga, I recommended this movie.

My favorite piece of technology

Hi people, in this new post I will to tell you about my favorite piece of technology. In first place, I was born in a technological expansion era, so the technology has been a good friend and a hard support in my life.

I remember when I have 4 years old, I could use our family computer and I remember that I liked make kinder garden works in it but we didn’t have Internet connection, so I just played offline games.

When I was 7 years old, I got my first PC with Internet. That was a big change in my life because it changed. I had using a lot of hours of my day watching videos on Youtube (Year 2007-2008) and playing games with my friends like Habbo, Counter Strike 1.6 and more of these years.

Time later, I got different vicious and addictions with the PC but actually, I have more control in this way.

Talking about me and my future in the past and the present

Today I will tell you about me thinking in my future.

When I was a child, the first job that I remember that I wanted to be a vet, because when I was a child, I loved the animals and I love the animals yet, but someone of these give me an allergy. After that, I wanted to be a fire fighter, but time later I realized that they don’t make money with their jobs because they are volunteers. Finishing the primary school, I wanted to be a doctor for the money, but I didn’t never like that.  

In the secondary school, I really didn’t know what I want to be in my life, so I just lived the moment and I didn’t think about the future until the end of this period. When I finished the High School, I remember that I was thinking in jobs like attorney, journalist, musician and engineer in some area, but finally I declined for Sound Engineer, because a friend told me about that and I liked that mix between art and science.

My experience in the university until now has been really good, I’m in second year and I approved all my subjects in the 1^st year, I met new people and I lived new experiences. I would like to create my own company focused on creating now products and ideas to sell to the world.

My Auto Biograpfy

My name is Osvaldo and my life is so boring, I’m 19 years old. I’m from Arica but I’m living in Santiago for now.

I like to hear rock and pop’s music. In my free time I like to playing the guitar, go out with my friends and make music. I can’t watch TV because I don’t have TV, but sometimes, when I don’t have classes, I like watching Netflix. My elementary school was cursed in Arica, in ‘’Colegio Alta Cordillera’’, after that, I went to study to ‘’Liceo A-1’’ named ‘’Octavio Palma Perez’’. After finishing my studies I came to Santiago. Actually, I’m studying sound engineering in Universidad de Chile, in second year. My family is formed by my mother, my father, my sister and me, but we are separated.
